Honda is the very short name for Honda Giken Kōgyō Kabushiki-gaisha. It was created by Soichiro Honda but there are many years which could be marked as the founding date but it was something between 1920 to 1960. The story of Hondas creation is another very fascinating one that is filled with hardships but in the end a happy ending. It all started with Soichiro, he used to be an automechanic in a tuning store called "Art Shokai" where he used to make cars race ready. He really liked cars and decided to design his own model that he then later tried to sell to Toyota but it was rejected. He tried and tried again until he finally gained a contract and built a factory which was then shortly destroyed by an earthquake. FAIL. Then he had the idea to attach a small motor to a bicycle and with a sponsorship by calling upon 18 thousand bicycle shop owners he recieved enough donations to finally develop the first motrcycle. A few years after that Honda started making cars and other products. Often mistaken with the South Korean car manufactorer, Hyundai this car manufactorer has a much more impressive resume. In addiction to being the sixth largest car manufactorer it is the worlds biggest motorcycle manufactorer, as well the worlds biggest manufactorer of internal combustion engines. Its subsidiaries include a luxury car brand, Acura, as well as the Honda aircraft company. Honda also manufactures garden equipment, marine engines, personal watercraft and power generators. I dont have anything against Honda but im not crazy about it either. I mean I do like it more than Toyota or Nissan, but im not a fan. I like Honda more because I think it produces more reliable and stronger and bigger cars than the others. I think that besides Eurpean car manufactorers, Honda is the best quality out there. I was surprised when i found out it was 6th biggest in size, but i expected it to be somewhere there in the top.

I'm a fan of Hondas. They're not always the prettiest, but they're definitely reliable. I miss my Civic.
I had no idea the original name of the company was sooooo long.
