Toyota

Toyota, short name for Toyota motor corporation, is the leading salesman in the automobile market, and one of the biggest producers. In addition to its car production Toyota also has its own financial service and robot departments, all equal in reputation. It was founded in 1937 by Kiichirô Toyoda in Aicha, Japan. Kiichiro used his fathers company, now known as Toyota Industries and created it to what we know today is called Toyota. It was originally called Toyoda, and even a logo was designed for it, but when Risaburo intermarried into the family, he changed the name to Toyota because it had a voiced consonant and when literaly translated it meant "fertile rice paddles". Currently Toyota employs 316 thousand people including the people in its 522 subsidiaries. The great depression was a big blow to Toyota as they lost 4.4 billion dollars because of it. At the moment the situation is not going better though with a uniform decrease in their stock price and the 1.8 million cars they have to recall due to public safety will set them back at least another 2 billion. Lately Toyota has been very actively involved in making more environment friendly cars to boost their sales. Toyota produces a wide variety of cars from hybrids and minis to trucks and pick-ups. Naturally i feel a strong need to compete with toyota, eben though i have no business with them but my father working for Volkswagen itry to critisize them whenever I get the chance. They build very cheap cars, that european manufactorers cannot creat at the same price and that why they can sell them cheaper than everybody else. It used to be Volkswagens main competitor back in South africa and there was a big race going on to see who could keep a car the longest in production. Volkswagen won with producing the Citi Golf for 25 years, 9 more years than the Toyota Tazz. Personally i dont like toyota cars because of their high promises and low deliveries and also because of their quality.
