Smart GmbH also known just as Smart is a "car" that was created in 1994 in Böblingen, Germany. The "microcars" and "superminis" are produced in Hambach, France though. Smart is a fully own daughter company of the Daimler AG. The sign of the car is a "c" which represent compact, and an arrow that represents "forward thinking"(wikipedia). The person who had such an idea to buil such a car was no one less than Nicolas G. Hayek, the CEO of the watch brand "Swatch". Nicolas developed the car which he called "Swatchmobile", and tried to find a suitable car manufactorer to be his business partner. He first tried Volkswagen but as Volkwagen was suffering financial problems at that time he turned to Daimler Benz. Hayek had too much hope for the car and it was discontinued in because it was too expensive. "During the years of 2003 unil 2006 Smart lost 4 Billion euros"(wikipedia). The main reason why this "car" was created was to enable parking in very crowded cities, it has worked but it can also work with cars that are much bigger than it. This car is an EPIC FAIL. These cars have a certain resemblance to golf carts, they probably cost much more, have the same size and probably the same horse power. The sad part about this "car" is that its nearly wider than it is longer, enabling it to park sideways. I hate this car, its ugly and useless. I did not know that this was a german car, but I hate it much more than Opel. I dont like small cars, especially not this one, and one of my wishes would be to buy one and smash it with a baseball bat. I dont understand how anyone would want this car as its hideous and has no point.domingo, 7 de março de 2010

Oh wow. These are some pretty strong sentiments. I'm not rushing out to buy one, but does the car really have no other positive features? Is it only good for parking?
